Privacy Policy
Mattronica LLC · Last updated October 24, 2026
This policy covers TicketProof, an iPhone app published by Mattronica LLC. TicketProof is an independent app and is not affiliated with the City of New York or any government agency. The short version: your photos and statements stay on your device, and we do not run servers that receive them.
What TicketProof does with your data
- Photos you choose. When you select a photo, the app reads its date, time and location metadata and makes a stamped copy. All of this happens on your device. The original photo is never modified.
- No uploads to us. Photos, metadata, coordinates, addresses and exported files are not sent to Mattronica LLC. We operate no account system and no server that receives them.
- Optional place names. If you turn on place names, the app asks your device’s built-in geocoding service (provided by Apple) for a street and city. That service may send the photo’s coordinates over the network under Apple’s privacy terms. You are asked before this is enabled and can export with coordinates only.
- Street names on the map. When place names are on, the app also asks the Mattronica street service for the names and positions of streets around the photo. That service, run by Mattronica LLC on Cloudflare, receives only coordinates rounded to about 100 metres (never the exact location, your photos, or anything else), fetches public street data from OpenStreetMap, and keeps no record of who asked. Street data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.
- Maps. The optional location map is drawn by Apple Maps on your device and is subject to Apple’s privacy terms.
- Statements. If you write and sign a statement, your name, its text and the signed page are stored only on your device until you save or share them.
- Sharing is yours. Files leave your device only when you share or save them using the system share sheet or Photos library.
Permissions
- Photos: to read the photo you select and, only when you choose, to save exported copies.
- The app does not ask for camera, microphone or location access. If a future version adds in-app photo capture, it will ask first, and location will never be used in the background.
Purchases
Building a folder is free; saving a finished folder is a paid purchase or part of an Unlimited subscription. Payments are handled by Apple through your Apple ID; we never see your payment details. To check what you have purchased, the app uses RevenueCat, a purchase-management service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous ID created by the app, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information such as your iOS version and country. It does not receive your photos, statements, folder names or name. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your iPhone’s Settings under your name > Subscriptions.
Analytics and tracking
TicketProof contains no advertising and does not track you across apps or websites. To learn how the app is used, it sends anonymous usage statistics to Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service. You can turn this off at any time in the app under Privacy & Analytics.
- What is sent: the name of an action (for example “photos imported” or “saved to Photos”), simple counts and choices (for example how many photos were imported, or whether you stamped an original or an edited version), the time, a random session number that is kept only in memory and resets when the app restarts or after an hour of inactivity, your operating system and its version, and the app version.
- What is never sent: photos or any image content, photo metadata, dates or times taken, coordinates, addresses, street names, file names, evidence IDs, folder names, your name or statement text, or any advertising or device identifier.
- No profiles: the statistics cannot be linked to you or your device, and are not sold or used for advertising.
Device backups
Data the app stores on your device may be included in backups managed by your operating system, such as iCloud Backup, under Apple’s terms. Deleting a photo from the app removes its app-local files; copies you already exported are separate.
Children
Our apps are not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
